ABOUT US

Beloit 2000 held its first informal meeting on December 19, 1988, when a group of local business leaders gathered over coffee and decided to take action to transform Beloit, Wisconsin with a vibrant and appealing city center to attract and retain talented employees and drive economic development. Initially named Beloit2000, the organization not only met but exceeded its initial goals, prompting an update to Beloit2020. As the year 2020 approached, it became clear that there was still considerable work ahead. With the city of Beloit nearing its bicentennial in 2036, the organization adopted its current identity, Beloit200, symbolizing ongoing dedication to community revitalization and sustainable growth. Today, Beloit200 continues its mission to foster a vibrant city center that serves as an asset and hub for the broader region, known locally as the Ten Mile City—a community comprising approximately 110,000 residents, including neighboring South Beloit, Illinois. The organization's vision remains focused on creating a robust economy and enhancing quality of life, ensuring Beloit's continued growth and prosperity into the future.
